-
School official submits a
letter of intent to ANSAA executive director to begin self-study in preparation
for ANSAA accreditation. A filing fee of $100 will accompany this letter,
along with a letter of verification from the school board stating agreement to
be responsible for all related costs.
-
The school will be in
"Candidate Status" for ANSAA accreditation for a period of three
years, during which time an approved self-study will be completed. The
$100 filing fee will expire at the end of the three year period.
-
The ANSAA Board will name a
consultant/chairperson to assist school in the self-study process. After
the consultant/chairperson notifies the board that the school has completed the
self-study and is ready for validation, a visiting team is organized by the
school, consultant/chairperson, and approved by the ANSAA board to validate the
school's self-study by an on-site visit to the school. The consultant then
becomes the chairperson of the validation team.
-
Each school seeking ANSAA
accreditation is responsible for all expenses incurred by the validation team,
including reimbursement per mile for transportation, according to current rates
paid for states services, plus meals and accommodations.
-
The chairperson reports to
the ANSAA board to make recommendation concerning the granting of
accreditation. The board votes on decision to grant accreditation based on
the school's self-study and recommendation by the ANSAA validation team.
-
A certificate of
accreditation by ANSAA is granted to the approved school for a period of up to
seven years. To maintain accreditation during the designated period, an
annual report is submitted along with the membership dues.
-
Accreditation renewal for
member schools may be obtained by either Option II (self-study/site visit) or
Option III (Project development/evaluation, Analysis of Change report,
Verification of Standards Report, and a site visit) as approved by the ANSAA
Board of Directors. These options are fully outlined in the ANSAA Policy
Manual.
