Classroom Tech Webinar Series John Sowash will facilitate a series of five virtual sessions focused on the use of technology in the K-12 classroom. These sessions will focus on the use of Chromebooks, Google Drive, Gemini, and more. Topics that will be covered over the course of the training:
Teaching with Google Classroom: Make Google Classroom your home! John Sowash will walk you through the process of creating a new Google Classroom and preparing it for your students. You’ll create a course, organize your resources, and learn how to invite your students to join the class. Walk out of this session with everything you need to begin teaching with Google Classroom!
A Teacher’s guide to Chromebooks: Chromebooks have some really cool features that you should be using in your classroom! This session will introduce you to some of my favorite Chromebook features like the camera app, taking screenshots, keyboard shortcuts, virtual desks, extensions, and more!
Chromebook creativity studio: Chromebooks are powerful multimedia devices that can be used to create original audio, video, and image-based projects. This fun session will introduce you to engaging assignments that will have your students designing original multimedia projects with student-friendly tools. During this session we will also explore new AI-powered creation tools such as Ideogram, Google Photos, and Gemini for Google Workspace.
AI tools for teachers: This session will introduce teachers to classroom-specific AI tools including MagicSchool, Brisk, Snorkl, Drift, and more! Together we’ll explore how these tools can increase creativity and lightning the burden of administrative tasks.
Creative assignments with Google Slides: If you are looking to create a fun activity for your students, Google Slides is your answer! During this session, you’ll learn how to use the slide master to create drag-and-drop activities and fun graphic design challenges you can use to create interactive notebooks.
