Administrator (Posted 2/17/2025) West Side Christian School, El Dorado Administrator—Job Description The Administrator will act as the chief officer of the school and will be responsible for the daily operations, personnel, expenditures, and any other area that affects school operations. The list below details some of the many responsibilities the Administrator must implement and/or oversee. The Administrator reports to the Church Pastor and works with the School Board concerning school policy. General Operations
Ensure that the academic and social programs of the school meet the school’s vision
Create an environment where meeting and supporting the needs of students, families, and staffis the central focus of the administration
Develop and implement the school’s policies and oversee the writing of its handbooks
Work to ensure that all reporting requirements are met in an accurate and timely manner (including school report cards and all state and federal reports)
Work with the School Board on policies, long-range planning, finances, and marketing
Oversee and build the school’s spiritual environment
Oversee and build positive church/school relationship
Curricular
Ensure that the school meets stated curriculum and policy standards
Ensure that student progress and logging of attendance hours meet school and state requirements
Oversee testing logistics for the school
Oversee accreditation procedures for the school
Delegate responsibilities from the list above to the appropriate members of the administration and staff
Advise on student placements
Enrollment
Oversee the application and enrollment process
Oversee the assignment of students to teachers Oversee the enrollment, withdrawal, course changes, and basic student information on the school’s student information system
Organize and oversee parent and student orientation
Students and Families
Develop regular and effective communication channels with families
Oversee discipline policies and procedures
Build strong school/family relationships
Develop extra-curricular student activities including but not limited to athletics, student leadership, fine arts, school clubs, and regular mission opportunities
Staff
Hire, train, and manage all teachers and staff
Organize and oversee staff orientations
Work with administrative staff to ensure that processes and communications between theschool board and K-12 are in place
Work with administrative staff to organize and deliver ongoing staff development
Supervise teaching and office staff personnel
Finance
Prepare and oversee annual budget
Understand the state Chart of Accounts
Work with accounting department and Pastor to oversee all business operations including: billing, budget development, cash flow reports, payroll, health benefit programs and any other business or personnel issues
Marketing/PR
Promote the school and its interests with its various publics
Work with development department to organize and lead student recruitment events and fundraising activities
Help develop public relations, communications, and marketing plans
Review and revise long range plan
The Administrator will have:
Master’s degree or equivalent work experience
School administration experience
A teachable spirit and vision for the school
Great organizational and time management skills
